Do Healthy Pets Still Need Regular Check-ups?
Yes. Preventive care is most effective before signs of illness appear.
Pets cannot tell us when something feels wrong and often instinctively hide signs of illness. By the time visible symptoms appear, a condition may already have progressed. Regular check-ups while your pet appears healthy can help identify changes before they become more serious.

Heart, kidney, liver, and endocrine conditions such as diabetes, Cushing's syndrome, and thyroid disease may cause few noticeable symptoms in their early stages. Detecting these conditions early can significantly improve treatment and long-term management.

A health check-up evaluates your pet's current condition through blood tests, urinalysis, diagnostic imaging, and other appropriate examinations. The results also help us create a preventive care plan based on your pet's age and individual health needs.

Because pets age much faster than humans, regular check-ups are an essential part of lifelong care. Protecting their health before illness develops is one of the best things we can do for them.
When Should My Pet Start Getting Health Check-ups?
Health check-ups should begin early and continue regularly throughout your pet's life.
The conditions pets are most likely to develop change as they grow older, so examinations should be planned according to their life stage.

- Under 1 year: Check growth, nutrition, congenital conditions, vaccinations, and parasite prevention.
- Ages 1–6: An annual check-up is recommended, even when no symptoms are present.
- Age 7 and older: Check-ups every 6 to 12 months are recommended due to the increased risk of heart, kidney, liver, endocrine, and age-related diseases, including tumors.

Because pets age quickly, their health can change significantly within a short period. Regular examinations help identify disease early and reduce the risk of missing the most effective time for treatment.

The ideal schedule and test selection may vary depending on breed, lifestyle, weight, medical history, and family history. We recommend consulting with our veterinary team to create the most appropriate check-up plan for your pet.
Does My Pet Need to Fast Before a Health Check-up?
Fasting is recommended for most health check-ups to ensure more accurate test results.

Food can affect blood test results, while food and intestinal gas may make it more difficult to examine abdominal organs during an ultrasound.

In general, pets should fast for 8 to 12 hours before their appointment. However, fasting instructions may differ for young pets or those with underlying conditions such as diabetes. Please follow the instructions provided by our veterinary team.
How Long Does a Health Check-up Take?
Most health check-ups take approximately 2 to 5 hours, depending on the program and tests required.

Examinations such as blood tests, urinalysis, blood pressure measurement, X-rays, and ultrasound are performed in sequence. The total time may vary depending on the selected tests and your pet's condition.

Most pets can return home on the same day. Once the examinations are complete, our veterinary team will review the results and explain your pet's current health status and any recommended care.
Can a Health Check-up Detect Every Disease?
Health check-ups are highly effective for detecting many conditions at an early stage, but no single examination can identify every possible disease.

Depending on the initial findings, additional testing such as specialized blood tests, ultrasound, CT, MRI, or endoscopy may be recommended. An accurate diagnosis is made by evaluating your pet's symptoms, medical history, and test results together.

A health check-up is the most important first step toward early detection and timely treatment.
When Will I Receive the Check-up Results?
Most standard results, including blood tests and diagnostic imaging, are available on the day of the check-up. The attending veterinarian will review the findings with you and explain your pet's current health status, any additional tests that may be needed, and recommended treatment or home care.

Some specialized tests, including biopsies and tests sent to external laboratories, may require additional time. In these cases, we will arrange a separate consultation as soon as the results are available.

Once all results have been finalized, we will provide a comprehensive health check-up report in PDF format. The original printed report will also be sent by registered mail.

What Happens If a Health Check-up Finds a Problem?
A health check-up does not end with identifying whether an abnormality is present.
The most important next step is creating an appropriate treatment and management plan based on the findings. If an abnormal result is detected, the attending veterinarian will explain it in detail and determine whether additional testing, treatment, or monitoring is needed.
